This article only applies to Android TV models from 2015 onwards


Situation

After the first time installation, the TV can be reinstalled via an option in the TV menu.


Checklist

Ensure that:

• the batteries are inserted correctly into the remote control,

• the power cord is properly connected to the TV and to a wall mains socket.


Answer

When the TV is (re)installed all the TV settings will be set to their default values.

Attention: If an ISF calibration has been done ensure that the ISF settings (picture calibrated by specialist) have been locked by the ISF specialist before the TV is reinstalled.

● If ISF settings are not locked, those settings will be deleted.

● If not sure about the ISF settings being locked or not, contact the ISF technician before reinstalling the TV.

● The Philips TV support does not provide this service!


1. Re-installation of a previously installed TV

To manually start the reinstallation of the TV, proceed as follows:

Press the “Settings/Menu” button on the remote control, scroll down and select:

[Frequent settings]* > [All Settings] > [General Settings] > [Reinstall TV] and press “OK” on the remote control.
*Only for some models

To delete all of the TV settings/HDD recordings and start the first installation process, confirm the option with the “OK” button on the remote control.


2. First Installation of a TV

Press the “OK” button on the remote if a message is shown on the screen to pair the remote control with the TV.

Proceed with the following settings:

• TV menu language,

• Connect to network (optional),

• Connect to Google (optional),

• Google Terms of Service, Privacy Policy agreement (optional): Select “Continue” to accept and proceed the installation,

• TV Location,

• Country in which the TV is installed,

• Time Zone,

• Home Use or Store Demo: Select “Home Use” to have access to all TV features,

• Philips Smart TV registration (optional): To access the Smart TV portal a registration is required. Select “Register now” to read more about the Smart TV Terms of Service,

• Channel installation and (Picture & Sound) Quick settings (optional), (If channels are received via a set-top box, the channel installation on the TV can be skipped. After the TV installation, press the “Source” button on the remote control and select the set-top box to watch TV channels.)

• Select “Finish” and press the “OK” button on the remote control to finalize the installation.

Attention: If the TV has been connected to the Internet during the reinstallation and the privacy settings allow the upload of statistical data, it is needed to set the TV to standby mode for at least 5min after the reinstallation. During that time the TV will update its internal database to ensure that all features are up-to-date.
