Checklist

ensure that:

• The satellite cable is firmly connected to the television and the wall socket

 

Answer

When installing multiple satellites, start with step 1  

When installing only one satellite, start with step 2


1. Choose the number of satellites

By default the TV is set to one satellite. To install multiple satellites follow these steps:

 • Change the connection type. Press the “Home” button on the remote control of the TV and select:

[Setup] > [Search for satellite] > [Install channels] > [Settings] > [Connection Type]

• Choose one of the following options:

   • DiSEqC 1.0 (3-4 LNBs)

   • DiSEqC Mini (2 LNBs)

Check on the manual or label of the DiSEqC Switch which option to select. When in doubt, try the setting DiSEqC 1.0 (3-4 LNBs). Please note that the TV only supports DiSEqC Mini and 1.0.


• Select [Done] > [Start]

The TV will start a complete channel scan. This can take up to an hour, depending on the number of satellites. When the search is complete, the TV will display a message and show an overview of the found channels. Press OK to finish the installation.

Unicable

Use these steps if the provider specifically mentions the satellite uses unicable.

 

A unicable system (EN50494) can connect either one or two satellites, using only one cable.

• Press the “Home” button on the remote control of the TV and select:

  [Setup] > [Search for satellite] > [Install channels] > [Settings] > [Connection Type]

 

• Choose and confirm the matching option:

  [Unicable for 1 satellite]

  [Unicable for 2 satellites]

 

The television will now display a list of user bands (UBs):

UB0, UB1, UB2, UB3, UB4, UB5, UB6, UB7

 

If the provider uses a user band range between UB1 and UB8, the please detract 1 to match the UB numbering in the TV.

 

• Choose a user band (UB) and press the ‘OK’ button

• Enter the user-band-frequency , given by the cable service provider (xxxx.xxx MHz). It should be within the following range:

  Minimum frequency: 0950.000

  Maximum frequency: 2150.000

• Press ‘OK’ to start the satellite search


2. Search channels

To (re)install the channels, press the “Home” button on the remote control of the television and select:

[Setup] > [Search for satellite] > [install Channels]

• After finding the satellites, confirm the installation with OK

Note: Some TVs will ask how to preorder the found channels. Choose one of the options and press OK.

 

Note for consumers in the United Kingdom:

• Televisions are almost always sold with only a DVB-T tuner.

• If the television has no DVB-S tuner, a Set-top box is needed to view satellite channels, usually in combination with a Sky Subscription

Situation

TV broadcasts are received via a DVB-S (satellite) signal. The satellite channels can be installed directly on the TV.


Checklist

Ensure that:

• The satellite cable is firmly connected to the television and the wall socket

• The satellite dish is properly aligned and connected;


Answer

Proceed with the steps below to install satellite channels:


1. Connect the satellite cable

Connect the satellite cable to the “SAT 1” port on the TV.


2. Start Satellite installation

• Press the “Menu” or “Home” button on the remote control and select [Installation]

• Select [Automatic channel Scan] and press “OK” on the remote control of the TV.

• Select [Satellite] and press “OK” on the remote control of the TV.

• If a channel list is already present the TV will show are warning to overwrite the existing list. Select [Yes] and press “OK” on the remote control of the TV.



First satellite installation on the TV

Another message will appear on screen when no satellite channel list was installed yet. Configure the satellite settings as follows:


• Press the “Menu” or “Home” button on the remote control and select [Installation]

• Select [Satellite settings] and press “OK” on the remote control of the TV.

• Select [Antenna installation] and press “OK” on the remote control of the TV.

• Select the DVB-S setup type with the arrow key on the remote control of the TV and press "OK" to confirm.

- Direct = direct connection between the TV and the LNB output
- Single Satellite Cable = Unicable
- DiSEqC = multiple satellites / LNBs via multiswitch


• Different setup types can be modified if required. Proceed as follows:

- Connection type “direct”
Press the “Green” button on the remote control of the TV to start installation.

                
- Connection type “single satellite cable” (Unicable):        
Enter user band and frequency, then press the “Green” button on the remote control of the TV to start installation.
Find the user band and the frequency on the unicable router or request the user band number via the technician that installed the router.

- Connection type “DiSEqC”
Match the “DiSEqC” LNB to the correct satellite name. Press the “Green” button on the remote control of the TV to start installation. 
(Contact a satellite technician for support on satellite reception)



3. Wait while the TV installs channels

• The TV will now search for channels on every selected Satellite. The installation takes around 10-15 minutes for each satellite. (disclaimer: the amount of minutes can vary due to many factors)

A progress bar shows to status of the installation.


4. Finish the installation

After all channels have been installed a message appears, stating; “Installation finished” .

• Select [Done] and press the “OK” button on the remote control.


5. Done!

A TV channel will appear.

Situation

• An DVB-S signal is received by the TV (no set-top box is used)
• All cables are firmly connected
• The TV has an internal DVB-S tuner

Note: If the television has no DVB-S tuner, a set-top box is needed to view satellite channels.

1. Connect the satellite cable
Connect the satellite cable to the “SAT 1” port on the TV.

2. Start Satellite installation
To install TV channels directly onto the TV, proceed as follows:
Press “Settings” button on the remote control of the TV and select:
• [Satellite installation] > [Search for channels] > [Start now] > [From a sorted package] press “OK”

Or

[All settings] > [Satellite installation] > [Search for satellite] > [Start now] > [Reinstall channels] > [From a sorted package] press “OK”.

Or

[All settings] > [Satellite installation] > [Search for satellite] > [Reinstall channels] > [From a sorted package] press “OK”.

• Select [Reinstall] and press “OK”
• Select [Start] or [Settings] if several satellites, multiswitches or several subscribers are connected
• After pressing [Start] the TV will search for the satellite(s). Press [Instal] after the TV finds the correct satellite(s).


Info: In "Settings", different configuration types can be changed as required. Proceed as follows:  

Connection type “1 Satellite (Single LNB)”

Press the “Green” button on the remote control of the TV to start the installation.

Connection type “2 Satellite (DiSEqC Mini)”
Press the “Green” button on the remote control of the TV to start the installation.

Connection type “2 Satellite (DiSEqC 1.0)”
Match the “DiSEqC” LNB to the correct satellite name. Press the “Green” button on the remote control of the TV to start installation. (Contact a satellite technician for support on satellite reception)

Check on the manual or label of the DiSEqC Switch which option to select. When in doubt, try the setting DiSEqC 1.0 (3-4 LNBs). Please note that the TV only supports DiSEqC Mini and 1.0.


Connection type “Unicable for 1 satellite”

Use these steps if the provider specifically mentions the satellite uses unicable.
A unicable system (EN50494) can connect either one or two satellites, using only one cable.
• Press the “Home” button on the remote control of the TV and select:
[Setup] > [Search for satellite] > [Install channels] > [Settings] > [Connection Type]
• Choose and confirm the matching option:

The television will now display a list of user bands (UBs):
UB0, UB1, UB2, UB3, UB4, UB5, UB6, UB7

• Select [Done] and press the “OK” button on the remote control.

5. Done!
The satellite channels are now available on the TV.

Answer

1. Put the satellite cable into “SAT 1”
Put the satellite cable into the “SAT 1” port on the TV.


 

Twin Tuner
It is optional to add a second satellite cable into the “SAT 2” port.
Benefit:
The TV can already record TV broadcasts with only one tuner (SAT 1). Additionally, the Twin Tuner (SAT 2) gives the opportunity to also view other channels while recording a particular broadcast.
To set up a the twin tuner: Add an extra satellite cable, extra CAM and smart card. Note that everything has to be a copy (a ‘twin’) of what is used for SAT 1: the satellite signals, the CAM modules, the smart cards, the smart card entitlements

2. Start Satellite installation
Press the “Setup” button on the remote control. Its icon has the shape of a cogwheel 

 
 

And then select [Satellite installation] + OK 

If it is the first time to install satellite channels, the TV will show the message: “No channels installed. To install satellite channels now, select No Channels and press "OK".
• Select [Install] and press OK 



3. Childlock
In some cases the TV will show a message “Setup - Enter Code. Set your pin code first”. This is the child lock. If this is not asked go to the next step.
• Enter the child lock code, that you wish to use or have already used before on the TV.
 
To switch the child lock OFF If the child lock is ON and you forgot the child lock code or simply want to switch the child lock OFF, follow these steps:
Abort the channel installation and:
• Select [Setup] > [General Settings] -> [Childlock]
• Enter the unlock code ‘8888’ + OK
• Set the new code to  ‘8888’ + OK (2x)
• Select [Parental rating] > [None] Go back to step 1 to continue with the channel installation


4. Two Tuners 



The TV shows the message “To watch a channel and to record another, select Two Tuners. Connect the cables or use Unicable with two User Bands. We recommend to use two CAM modules for pay-TV.”
• Select [Two Tuners] to use the Twin Tuner (as explained in step 1)
• Select [Next] and press OK 

5. Satellite settings
The TV shows the current settings.
• Select [Search]

6 Searching for satellites 

 

• The TV will now connect to the satellites. This can take several minutes.
• As soon as the satellites are found, the TV will show information on the satellite.

7 Install the channels
• Select [Install] and press OK 

 

• Select one of the presorted channel packages for your country.
• Select [Next] and press OK 



• Select [Quick] to install the channels package. With this option the TV will search channels at pre-programmed channel positions, so the TV needs less time to install the channels.
Choose [Full] to also install all other available channels. That installation will take more time.
• Select [Next] and press the OK button 

 

8. Wait while the TV installs channels 



• The TV will now search for channels on every selected Satellite. The installation takes around 10-15 minutes for each satellite. (disclaimer: the amount of minutes can vary due to many factors)
Two progress bars shows to status of the installation.

9. Finish the installation 



After all channels have been installed a message appears stating “The installation is done” (See image above).
• Select ‘Finish’ and press the OK button.

10 Done!
A TV channel will appear.

If two or more LNB’s are used, select [Configuration] to change the settings and select the satellites. Press "OK" on the remote control and proceed with step 4.


For a Unicable installation, proceed as follows:

• Select: [Configure] > [Installation system] > [Unicable for 1 satellite] or [unicable for 2 satellites]

• Select the user band number and press “OK” on the remote control. Then press next [Next] to enter the user band frequency (use the remote control digits to enter the frequency).

You can find the the user band and the frequency on the unicable router or request the user band number via the technician that installed the router.



4. Start search

If you do not need to change the settings:

• Select [Search]


5. Searching for satellites

• The TV will now connect to the satellite(s). This can take several minutes.

• As soon as the satellites are found, the TV will show the names of the found satellites


6. Install the channels

• Select [Install] and press “OK” on the remote control of the TV.

• Select the preferred type of installation from the list and press “OK” on the remote control:

- One of the presorted channel packages for your country (regular).

- Unsorted (a full scan of all available channels)

- Fast install (option differ per broadcaster)

• Select [Next] and press the “OK” button.


7. Wait while the TV installs channels

• The TV will now search for channels on every selected Satellite. The installation takes around 10-15 minutes for each satellite. (disclaimer: the amount of minutes can vary due to many factors)

A progress bar shows to status of the installation.


8. Finish the installation

After all channels have been installed a message appears, stating; “Installation finished” .

• Select [Done] and press the “OK” button on the remote control.


9. Online privacy

The online privacy is related to interactive services (HbbTV) that providers offer with their channels. The reception of HbbTV can be switched [ON] or [OFF].


10. Done!

A TV channel will appear.

Checklist
Ensure that:
• The satellite cable is firmly connected to the television and the wall socket

1. Put the satellite cable into “SAT 1”
Put the satellite cable into the “SAT 1” port on the TV.


 

Twin Tuner
It is optional to add a second satellite cable into the “SAT 2” port.
Benefit:
The TV can already record TV broadcasts with only one tuner (SAT 1). Additionally, the Twin Tuner (SAT 2) gives the opportunity to also view other channels while recording a particular broadcast.
To set up a the twin tuner: Add an extra satellite cable, extra CAM and smart card. Note that everything has to be a copy (a ‘twin’) of what is used for SAT 1: the satellite signals, the CAM modules, the smart cards, the smart card entitlements

2. Start Satellite installation
Press the “Setup” button on the remote control. Its icon has the shape of a cogwheel 

 
 

And then select [Satellite installation] + OK 

If it is the first time to install satellite channels, the TV will show the message: “No channels installed. To install satellite channels now, select No Channels and press "OK".
• Select [Install] and press OK 



3. Childlock
In some cases the TV will show a message “Setup - Enter Code. Set your pin code first”. This is the child lock. If this is not asked go to the next step.
• Enter the child lock code, that you wish to use or have already used before on the TV.
 
To switch the child lock OFF If the child lock is ON and you forgot the child lock code or simply want to switch the child lock OFF, follow these steps:
Abort the channel installation and:
• Select [Setup] > [General Settings] -> [Childlock]
• Enter the unlock code ‘8888’ + OK
• Set the new code to  ‘8888’ + OK (2x)
• Select [Parental rating] > [None] Go back to step 1 to continue with the channel installation


4. Two Tuners 



The TV shows the message “To watch a channel and to record another, select Two Tuners. Connect the cables or use Unicable with two User Bands. We recommend to use two CAM modules for pay-TV.”
• Select [Two Tuners] to use the Twin Tuner (as explained in step 1)
• Select [Next] and press OK 

5. Satellite settings
The TV shows the current settings.
• Select [Search]

6 Searching for satellites 

 

• The TV will now connect to the satellites. This can take several minutes.
• As soon as the satellites are found, the TV will show information on the satellite.

7 Install the channels
• Select [Install] and press OK 

 

• Select one of the presorted channel packages for your country.
• Select [Next] and press OK 



• Select [Quick] to install the channels package. With this option the TV will search channels at pre-programmed channel positions, so the TV needs less time to install the channels.
Choose [Full] to also install all other available channels. That installation will take more time.
• Select [Next] and press the OK button 

 

8. Wait while the TV installs channels 



• The TV will now search for channels on every selected Satellite. The installation takes around 10-15 minutes for each satellite. (disclaimer: the amount of minutes can vary due to many factors)
Two progress bars shows to status of the installation.

9. Finish the installation 



After all channels have been installed a message appears stating “The installation is done” (See image above).
• Select ‘Finish’ and press the OK button.

10 Done!
A TV channel will appear.

Situation

TV broadcasts are received via a DVB-S (satellite) signal. The satellite channels can be installed directly on the TV.

Checklist

Ensure that:

• The satellite cable is firmly connected to the TV and the wall socket

• The satellite dish is properly aligned and connected;


Answer
Proceed with the steps below to install satellite channels:

1. Connect the satellite cable

Connect the satellite cable to the “SAT 1” port on the TV.

2. Start Satellite installation

Press the “Settings” button on the remote control and select:

[All settings] > [Channels] > [Satellite installation] > [Search for satellites] > [Search]


Or


during first installation of the TV:

Channels and Quick setting: [Install Satellite]

 

3. Installation configuration (optional)

If one LNB is used, proceed with step 4. The configuration is already set correctly for one LNB.

If two or more LNB’s are used, select [Configuration] to change the settings and select the satellites. Press "OK" on the remote control and proceed with step 4.


For a Unicable installation, proceed as follows:

• Select: [Configure] > [Installation system] > [Unicable for 1 satellite] or [unicable for 2 satellites]

• Select the user band number and press “OK” on the remote control. Then press next [Next] to enter the user band frequency (use the remote control digits to enter the frequency).

You can find the the user band and the frequency on the unicable router or request the user band number via the technician that installed the router.



4. Start search

If you do not need to change the settings:

• Select [Search]


5. Searching for satellites

• The TV will now connect to the satellite(s). This can take several minutes.

• As soon as the satellites are found, the TV will show the names of the found satellites


6. Install the channels

• Select [Install] and press “OK” on the remote control of the TV.

• Select the preferred type of installation from the list and press “OK” on the remote control:

- One of the presorted channel packages for your country (regular).

- Unsorted (a full scan of all available channels)

- Fast install (option differ per broadcaster)

• Select [Next] and press the “OK” button.


7. Wait while the TV installs channels

• The TV will now search for channels on every selected Satellite. The installation takes around 10-15 minutes for each satellite. (disclaimer: the amount of minutes can vary due to many factors)

A progress bar shows to status of the installation.


8. Finish the installation

After all channels have been installed a message appears, stating; “Installation finished” .

• Select [Done] and press the “OK” button on the remote control.


9. Online privacy

The online privacy is related to interactive services (HbbTV) that providers offer with their channels. The reception of HbbTV can be switched [ON] or [OFF].


10. Done!

A TV channel will appear.

Situation

Channels have to be (re) installed in the following situations:

• During the first installation of the TV

• When one or more channels are missing

• When switching to a different provider or signal type


Checklist

Ensure that:

• An DVB-S signal is received by the TV (no set-top box is used)

• All cables are firmly connected

• The TV has an internal DVB-S tuner

Note: If the television has no DVB-S tuner, a set-top box is needed to view satellite channels.

1. Connect the satellite cable

Connect the satellite cable to the “SAT 1” port on the TV.


2. Start Satellite installation

To install TV channels directly onto the TV, proceed as follows:

1. Press “Settings” button on the remote control of the TV and select:

• [Install channels] > [Satellite installation] > [Search for satellite] > [Start now]

• Select [Reinstall channels] and press “OK”.

• Select [From a sorted package] or [All channels unsorted] and press “OK”

• Select [Reinstall] and press “OK”.

• Select [Start] or [Settings] if several satellites, multiswitches or several subscribers are connected.

• After pressing [Start] the TV will search for the satellite(s).

• Press [Install] after the TV found the correct satellite(s).

• Choose a sorted package in case you have chosen [From a sorted package] and press “OK”

Info: In "Settings", different configuration types can be changed as required. Proceed as follows:
  

Connection type “1 Satellite (Single LNB)”

Press the “OK” button on the remote control of the TV to start the installation.


Connection type “2 Satellites (DiSEqC Mini)”

Press the “OK” button on the remote control of the TV to start the installation.


Connection type “3 or 4 Satellites (DiSEqC 1.0)”

Match the “DiSEqC” LNB to the correct satellite name. Press the “OK” button on the remote control of the TV to start installation. (Contact a satellite technician for support on satellite reception)

Check on the manual or label of the DiSEqC Switch which option to select. When in doubt, try the setting DiSEqC 1.0 (3-4 LNBs). Please note that the TV only supports DiSEqC Mini and 1.0.


Connection type “Unicable for 1 satellite”

Unicable

Use these steps if the provider specifically mentions the satellite uses unicable.

A unicable system (EN50494) can connect either one or two satellites, using only one cable.


Press “Settings” button on the remote control of the TV and select:

• [Install channels] > [Satellite installation] > [Search for satellite] > [Start now]

• Select [Reinstall channels] and press “OK”.

• Select [From a sorted package] or [All channels unsorted] and press “OK”

• Select [Reinstall] and press “OK”.

• Select [Settings] and press “OK”.

• Select [Connection type], choose and confirm the matching option:

[Unicable for 1 satellite]

[Unicable for 2 satellites]

The television will now display a list of user bands (UBs):

UB0, UB1, UB2, UB3, UB4, UB5, UB6, UB7

If the provider uses a user band range between UB1 and UB8, the please detract 1 to match the UB numbering in the TV.

• Choose a user band (UB) and press the ‘OK’ button

• Enter the user-band-frequency , given by the cable service provider (xxxx.xxx MHz). It should be within the following range:

Minimum frequency: 0950.000

Maximum frequency: 2150.000

• Press ‘OK’ to start the satellite search


3. Wait while the TV installs channels

• The TV will now search for channels on the selected satellite(s). A progress bar shows to status of the installation.


4. Finish the installation

After all channels have been installed, the next message appears: “Finished!” .

• Select [Finish] and press the “OK” button on the remote control.


5. Done!

The satellite channels are now available on the TV.
