Situation
Channels have to be (re)installed in the following situations:
• During the first installation of the TV
• When one or more channels are missing
• When switching to a different provider or signal type


Checklist
Ensure that:
• All cables are firmly connected.

Answer
1. Plug the antenna cable into antenna port on the back of the TV.
2. Press the “Source” button on the remote control.
3. Select the source "Watch TV" (digital TV channels) and press “OK” on the remote control.
4. Press the “MENU” button on the remote control, select [Channel] and press “OK”.
5. Select the reception type - terrestrial (DVB-T) or cable (DVB-C) - and press “OK”.
6. Select [Auto Tuning] and press “OK”.
7. Once the parameters are aligned with local specifics, select [Auto Tuning] and press the “OK” button again to start the channel installation.
8. A bar will be displayed to show the progress of the installation. Wait for a few minutes until the installation is complete.
9. Done! After the channel list was installed, the TV will show one of the channels.

Situation

Ensure that:
• An analog or DVB-C/T signal is received by the TV (no set-top box is used)
• All cables are firmly connected

Answer

To install TV channels directly onto the TV, proceed as follows:

• Press the “Home” button on the remote control and select [Installation]. Press the “OK” button on the remote control to confirm the selection.


Search for the Providers’ channel list

To install a predefined channel list from the provider select [Network channel scan] and press “OK” on the remote control.

• Follow the on-screen steps to finalise the channel installation.


Note : The TV will ask for the Network ID and Frequency. This input is different per provider and region. Contact the signal provider for more information on the required input.
Manual channel search

To perform a full channel scan without preset provider settings, select [Automatic channel search]. The search parameters can be entered manually (Start- and End frequency, step width). After the parameters are set, press the “OK” button on the remote control to start the channel search.

• Select [Antenna] or [Cable] and confirm with the “OK” button on the remote control.
• Select the cable provider and press “OK” on the remote control.
• Select [Digital and analogue channels] or [Only digital channels]
• The highlighted option is [Start]. Press the “OK” button to start the channel search.

Select [Settings] to adjust the channel search manually (optional)

2. Start the channel search
Select “Done” to confirm the settings. Select [Start] and press “OK” on the remote control to start the channel search.

• The TV is certified for the provider

Answer
Verify which signal type delivers the TV channels (via the signal provider) and proceed with the applicable steps for that signal:

From antenna signal (DVB-T)
Ensure to:
• Double-check if the antenna cable is firmly connected to the television
• If applicable, leave out the (CI+) CAM module while installing the channels

Answer:
To re-install DVB-T channels press “Home” on the remote control of your television and select:
• [Setup] > [Channel installation] > [Reinstall all channels] > [Your country] > [Antenna DVB-T] > [Settings] > [Frequency scan] > [Full scan]
• Choose [Done] from the menu or by pressing the green button on the remote
• Select [Start]
• Follow the on-screen instructions
If applicable, place the CI+ CAM module back into the television after installing the channels.

Directly from cable (DVB-C)
Checklist
Ensure to:
• Double-check if the cable is firmly connected to the television
• If applicable, leave out the (CI+)CAM module while installing the channels.

To re-install DVB-C channels press “Home” on the remote control of the television and select:
• [Setup] > [Channel installation] > [Reinstall all channels] > [Your country] > [Cable DVB-C ] > [Settings] > [Frequency scan] > [Full scan]
• Choose [Done] from the menu or by pressing the green button on the remote
• Select [Start]
• Follow the on-screen instructions
If applicable, place the CI+ CAM module back into the television after installation

Note for consumers in the United Kingdom:
• In the UK televisions are almost always sold for DVB-T tuner use.
• DVB-C channel support in the UK is only available via a Virgin Media subscription and a set-top box
• The DVB-C tuner built into the TV is not certified for the UK cable providers. Therefore we have no setup details for the DVB-C signal in the UK and we can not guarantee DVB-C channels working correctly when installed directly on our sets.
What to do when no channels or only analogue channels can be found?

If no channels or only analogue channels can be found, follow these steps:

1. Check the Signal strength and quality
Press the “Options” button on the remote control of the TV and select [Status]
• For receiving digital channels, the signal strength should be above 80%

2. Check the Network frequency and network ID
In some cases the television will ask for the following data: [Network frequency] > [Network ID]. Please refer to the service provider for more information on this.

The cable provider "Unity Media" in Nordrhein-Westfalen uses the network ID 43235
outside of Nordrhein-Westfalen, the network ID 09999.

3. Set [Digital channel] to [On]
This option can be found in the menu [Channel settings] or when selecting [Settings] instead of [Start] during the channel installation

4. Change the frequency step size
Select [Settings] instead of [Start] during the channel installation and choose [Frequency step size]. Change the setting to 1MHz for a slower and more accurate channel scan.

5. Reset the tuner
Follow these steps to reset the tuner:
• Unplug all cables from the TV except for the power cable
• Walk through the channel installation without cable and cam module inserted into the TV
• Switch the TV off and plug the antenna cable back in again
• Repeat the channel installation with the cable inserted

Via a set-top box
Ensure that:
• All cables are firmly connected
• The correct source on the television is selected with the “Source” button

Contact the Service Provider with instructions on how to further install the set-top box.

Answer
To reinstall the channels on the TV, continue with step 5 below.

To install the TV for the first time, proceed as follows:
1. Select the menu language


2. On the next screen three option will be shown:
• [Country]: Select the country in which the TV is located in
• [Teletext Language]: Select the language Teletext should be displayed in
• [Scan Encrypted]: Select [Yes] to scan coded channels
 

3. After pressing the “OK”-button on the remote control the following message will appear: 



• Press [Yes] to search for channels

4. The TV will show the following popup:
 
  

• To install Digital Aerial (antenna) channels, continue to step 5A
• To install Digital Cable channels, continue to step 5B
• To install Satellite channels, continue to step 5F

5. Press the “Home”-button on the remote control of the TV and select:
• [Install and Retune] > [Automatic Channel Scan (Retune)]

The following options are available:

5A. [Digital Aerial]: Select this option to access free-to-air antenna transmissions
• Start searching by pressing the “OK”-button on the remote control of the TV 
  

5B. [Digital Cable]: Select this option to access digital cable transmissions
The TV will ask for the following data:
• [Start frequency]: (1)14.00 MHz
• [Stop frequency]: 858.00 MHz
• [Search step]: 8000 or 1000. For a more detailed search, select [1000]
• [Network]: This option can only be entered at first installation (this option is not available in the UK)


5C. [Analogue]: Select this option to install only analogue channels
• The TV will start searching automatically

5D. [Digital Aerial & Analogue]: Select this option to access free-to-air antenna transmissions and analogue channel
• The TV will start searching automatically

5E. [Digital Cable / Digital Cable & Analogue]: Select this option to access cable transmissions and analogue channels
The TV will ask for the following data:
• [Start frequency]: (1)14.00 MHz
• [Stop frequency]: 858.00 MHz
• [Search step]: 8000 or 1000. For a more detailed search, select [1000]

5F. [Satellite]: Select this option to watch satellite channels
Only at first installation the TV will ask to select one of the following Antenna types:
• [Direct]: Select this option to receive channels with a single receiver and a direct satellite dish
• [Unicable]: Select this option to receive channels with multiple receivers and a unicable system
• [DiSEqC switch]: Select this options to receive channels with multiple satellites and a DiSEqC switch. When choosing this option, a different screen will appear with four DiSEqC options. Press the green button to scan all satellites or the yellow button to scan the highlighted satellite. 


When reinstalling channels, the antenna type is preset and cannot be changed. A screen will be shown with the selected satellite and the signal strength and quality
• Press the blue button to select a transponder
• Press the green button to scan for services or load a preset list
• After pressing the green button the TV shows the following message: “Do you want to load preset list?”
• Select [Yes] to load the list that was set at first channel installation
• Select [No] to start a channel search

Option 2 : Search for the Providers’ channel list

To install a predefined channel list select your local provider from the list and press “OK” on the remote control.
• Follow the on-screen steps to finalise the channel installation.

In case the TV set cannot find the channels even with network frequency and ID entered or they are unknown, select ‘Skip’ in network frequency menu. This will allow the TV to perform a channel search without network details.

 
Option 3 : Manual channel search

To perform a manual search

• Select [All settings] > [Channels] >[Digital reception test] > [Search] and press “OK”.  
Press the “right arrow” button on the remote control to enter the frequency parameters. After the parameters are set, press the “right arrow” button on the remote control. If “Search” highlighted press “OK” to start the channel search.
• Follow the on-screen steps to finalise the channel installation.

• Select [Quick reinstall] or [Advanced reinstall].


Note: A “quick reinstall” will reinstall the channels directly with the default settings. The “advanced reinstall” will guide you through each step.


If [Quick reinstall] is selected, the channel search will start right away.


If the [Advanced reinstall] is selected:

• Select the country.

• Select [Antenna] or [Cable] and confirm with the “OK” button on the remote control.

• If [Cable] is selected, choose the cable provider and press “OK” on the remote control.

• Select [Only digital channels] or [Digital and analogue channels] and press “OK” on the remote control.

• The highlighted option is [Start]. Press the “OK” button to start the channel search.

What to do when no channels or only analogue channels can be found?

If no channels or only analogue channels can be found, follow these steps:

1. Check the Signal strength and quality
Press the “Options” button on the remote control of the TV and select [Status]
• For receiving digital channels, the signal strength should be above 80%

2. Check the Network frequency and network ID
In some cases the television will ask for the following data: [Network frequency] > [Network ID]. Please refer to the service provider for more information on this.

The cable provider "Unity Media" in Nordrhein-Westfalen uses the network ID 43235
outside of Nordrhein-Westfalen, the network ID 09999.

3. Set [Digital channel] to [On]
This option can be found in the menu [Channel settings] or when selecting [Settings] instead of [Start] during the channel installation

4. Change the frequency step size
Select [Settings] instead of [Start] during the channel installation and choose [Frequency step size]. Change the setting to 1MHz for a slower and more accurate channel scan.

5. Reset the tuner
Follow these steps to reset the tuner:
• Unplug all cables from the TV except for the power cable
• Walk through the channel installation without cable and cam module inserted into the TV
• Switch the TV off and plug the antenna cable back in again
• Repeat the channel installation with the cable inserted

Via a set-top box
Ensure that:
• All cables are firmly connected
• The correct source on the television is selected with the “Source” button

Contact the Service Provider with instructions on how to further install the set-top box.

To reinstall the channels on the TV, continue with step 5 below.

To install the TV for the first time, proceed as follows:
1. Select the menu language


2. On the next screen three option will be shown:
• [Country]: Select the country in which the TV is located in
• [Teletext Language]: Select the language Teletext should be displayed in
• [Scan Encrypted]: Select [Yes] to scan coded channels
 

3. After pressing the “OK”-button on the remote control the following message will appear: 



• Press [Yes] to search for channels

4. The TV will show the following popup:
 
  

• To install Digital Aerial (antenna) channels, continue to step 5A
• To install Digital Cable channels, continue to step 5B
• To install Satellite channels, continue to step 5F

5. Press the “Home”-button on the remote control of the TV and select:
• [Install and Retune] > [Automatic Channel Scan (Retune)]

The following options are available:

5A. [Digital Aerial]: Select this option to access free-to-air antenna transmissions
• Start searching by pressing the “OK”-button on the remote control of the TV 
  

5B. [Digital Cable]: Select this option to access digital cable transmissions
The TV will ask for the following data:
• [Start frequency]: (1)14.00 MHz
• [Stop frequency]: 858.00 MHz
• [Search step]: 8000 or 1000. For a more detailed search, select [1000]
• [Network]: This option can only be entered at first installation (this option is not available in the UK)


5C. [Analogue]: Select this option to install only analogue channels
• The TV will start searching automatically

5D. [Digital Aerial & Analogue]: Select this option to access free-to-air antenna transmissions and analogue channel
• The TV will start searching automatically

5E. [Digital Cable / Digital Cable & Analogue]: Select this option to access cable transmissions and analogue channels
The TV will ask for the following data:
• [Start frequency]: (1)14.00 MHz
• [Stop frequency]: 858.00 MHz
• [Search step]: 8000 or 1000. For a more detailed search, select [1000]

5F. [Satellite]: Select this option to watch satellite channels
Only at first installation the TV will ask to select one of the following Antenna types:
• [Direct]: Select this option to receive channels with a single receiver and a direct satellite dish
• [Unicable]: Select this option to receive channels with multiple receivers and a unicable system
• [DiSEqC switch]: Select this options to receive channels with multiple satellites and a DiSEqC switch. When choosing this option, a different screen will appear with four DiSEqC options. Press the green button to scan all satellites or the yellow button to scan the highlighted satellite. 


When reinstalling channels, the antenna type is preset and cannot be changed. A screen will be shown with the selected satellite and the signal strength and quality
• Press the blue button to select a transponder
• Press the green button to scan for services or load a preset list
• After pressing the green button the TV shows the following message: “Do you want to load preset list?”
• Select [Yes] to load the list that was set at first channel installation
• Select [No] to start a channel search

Option 2 : Search for the Providers’ channel list

To install a predefined channel list select your local provider from the list and press “OK” on the remote control.
• Follow the on-screen steps to finalise the channel installation.

In case the TV set cannot find the channels even with network frequency and ID entered or they are unknown, select ‘Skip’ in network frequency menu. This will allow the TV to perform a channel search without network details.

 
Option 3 : Manual channel search

To perform a manual search

• Select [All settings] > [Channels] >[Digital reception test] > [Search] and press “OK”.  
Press the “right arrow” button on the remote control to enter the frequency parameters. After the parameters are set, press the “right arrow” button on the remote control. If “Search” highlighted press “OK” to start the channel search.

• Select [Quick reinstall] or [Advanced reinstall].


Note: A “quick reinstall” will reinstall the channels directly with the default settings. The “advanced reinstall” will guide you through each step.


If [Quick reinstall] is selected, the channel search will start right away.


If the [Advanced reinstall] is selected:

• Select the country.

• Select [Antenna] or [Cable] and confirm with the “OK” button on the remote control.

• If [Cable] is selected, choose the cable provider and press “OK” on the remote control.

• Select [Only digital channels] or [Digital and analogue channels] and press “OK” on the remote control.

• The highlighted option is [Start]. Press the “OK” button to start the channel search.

1. Plug the antenna cable into antenna port on the back of the TV.
2. Press the “Source” button on the remote control.
3. Select the source "Watch TV" (digital TV channels) and press “OK” on the remote control.
4. Press the “Home” button on the remote control, select [Channel] > [Auto Tuning] and press “OK”.
5. Once the parameters are aligned with local specifics, press the “OK” button again to start the channel installation.
6. A bar will be displayed to show the progress of the installation. Wait for a few minutes until the installation is complete.
7. Done! After the channel list was installed, the TV will show one of the channels.
